Do yourself a favor and check out this list before planning your visit to the Olympic Peninsula! The towns surrounding Discovery Bay throw annual parties celebrating many unusual interests like kinetic sculpture, power tool races, steampunk, and strange beer - as well as the more expected categories like crafts and seafood.
January
- Strange Brewfest
- Port Townsend. Celebrate the breweries of the Pacific Northwest and enjoy the artists and musicians as well.
February
- Olympic Peninsula Red Wine, Cider and Chocolate Tour
- Marrowstone Island to Port Angeles. Relish the perfect combinations of extraordinary wines, exquisite ciders and decadent chocolates over two delicious weekends, traveling from venue to venue across the Peninsula.
March
- Victorian Heritage Festival
- Port Townsend. Come live for a day in the Victorian Era! Port Townsend is one of only three nationally recognized Victorian Seaport Towns, and this festival celebrates that heritage with tours of historic buildings, parades, story telling, schooner rides and other events.
- PT PlayFest
- Port Townsend. KCPT’s annual PT PlayFest produces one-act plays by Jefferson County, WA writers and hosts workshops of full length dramas and musicals currently being developed by writers throughout the Northwest and nationally.

April
- Port Townsend Film Festival
- Port Townsend. A huge film festival with seven venues and over 90 movies, many for free - a wonderful party! Filmmakers, panel discussions, a festive dinner for pass holders, and all completely walkable!
- Olympic Peninsula Birdfest
- Sequim. Timed to overlap with the beginning of the spring migration, but while the wintering birds are still here, this festival is a wonderful way to view the huge variety of birds seen on the North Olympic Peninsula. Field trips, workshops, various presentations and a banquet make this a wonderful event for birders of all skill levels.
May
- Rhododendron Festival
- Port Townsend. Celebrate the beauty of the Washington State Flower with an arts and crafts fair, golf tournament, 12K run, food booths and more.
- Sequim Irrigation Festival
- Sequim. No one else has an Irrigation Festival! We celebrate the oldest continuing festival in Washington, begun in 1896. This tradition honors the development of the irrigation ditches that bring water to the dry farmlands of Sequim.
- Juan de Fuca Arts Festival
- Port Angeles. Over 100 top performers, artists and musicians come together for four days to celebrate the arts in one of the best small-town festivals in the country!
- Hood Canal ShrimpFest
- Brinnon. The ShrimpFest is everything you expect to find at a festival (food, arts and crafts, music, etc.) plus belt sander races!
June
- Port Angeles Maritime Festival
- Port Angeles. Various events and activities celebrating our maritime heritage.
- Summer Solstice Art Festival
- Port Angeles. A two-day cultural festival at Webster’s Woods at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center.
- Brass Screw Confederacy Steampunk Festival
- Port Angeles. The Brass Screw Confederacy is unique. You have to attend it to believe it! The Steampunks take over! Costumes, magic shows, burlesque, music and, of course, food! Time travelers, choose your community!
July
- Sequim Lavender Festival
- Sequim. A free arts/crafts/food fair featuring over 150 booths! Celebrate all things lavender and much, much more.
August
- Uptown Street Fair & Parade
- Port Townsend. Great food, a farmer’s market, arts and crafts events and booths, and a parade!
- Jefferson County Fair
- Port Townsend. The JeffCO Fair includes traditional as well as unique events, vendors, artists, music, etc.
- Olympic Peninsula Air Affaire & Sequim Valley Fly-In
- Sequim. Classic planes and cars, hot air balloon or helicopter rides, aerial shows, crafts, music and food.
- Northwest Colonial Festival
- Sequim-Port Angeles. See the Battle of Lexington and Concord reenacted at the George Washington Inn and Lavender Farm.
September
- Wooden Boat Festival
- Port Townsend. The maritime heritage of the Pacific Northwest celebrated with the largest display of wooden boats in North America.
- Crafts By The Dock
- Port Townsend. Crafts fair held in conjunction with and adjoining the Wooden Boat Festival.
- Dungeness River Festival
- Sequim. Celebrate the Dungeness and learn more about this magnificent natural resource and what is being done to protect it.
- Arts & Draughts - A Fermentation Celebration
- Port Angeles. A street fair featuring local breweries, artists, food vendors and live music.
October
- Port Townsend Bay Kinetic Sculpture Race
- Port Townsend. Human-powered, artistically decorated vehicles traverse a variety of terrains in a frantic competition to win the Mediocrity Award for finishing in the middle! Of course there is music, food, arts, foolishness and fun! You won’t find another festival like it!
- Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival
- Port Angeles. Celebrate what remains of the bounty of the ocean and the beautiful coastal environment.
November
- Holiday Craft Sale
- Port Townsend. Do your holiday shopping locally! The Port Townsend Community Center provides a venue for local crafts people to show, share and sell their wares on the Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving.
- Jefferson County Holiday Fair
- Port Townsend. A seasonal crafts sale and fair at the Fair Grounds.
