Volunteers from the Recycling Team collect recyclables daily from both drop-off points and load full bins onto the recycling trailer near the entrance..
Regularly (approximately every other week) a group of volunteers load the corrugated cardboard onto the trailer with full recycle bins and prepare it to travel to Jefferson County Recycling Center in Port Townsend where the volunteers unload our recyclables there.
What this group does
The Recycling Team always needs volunteers to either do the daily “recycling run” (about 30-45 minutes once a week) or to help with the trip to the Recycling Center (about two hours or a little longer if you join the group for a breakfast outing.)
Additionally, we need a member, who will drive her own vehicle to tow the trailer, to be available for the trip to the Recycling Center.
If you would like to volunteer to help in this important task, contact the Recycling Lead or any member of the Recycling Team.
